A 60 minute massage is good for a full body and one area of focus. Some people get their upper half (glutes to head) or lower half (glutes to feet) of their body’s massaged.

A 90 minute massage is one of the best for sports massage and deep tissue work. It gives time for trigger point work, stretching and range of motion. It also allows for more than one area of focus.

Modalities


Essential oils are a product obtained from vegetable raw material, either by distillation with water or steam, or from the epicarp of citrus fruits by a mechanical process, or by dry distillation.

Hot & Cold Stones

Hot stones reduce stress and anxiety, promote relaxation, and ease pain and muscle tension. It also helps remove toxins from the body. This happens due to relaxation of the muscles which allows for better lymphatic flow in the body.

Cold stones can promote circulation, reduce inflamed swelling, decrease muscle spasms, and acts as a powerful decongestant for the body.

When paired together, it is called contrast therapy. Contrast therapy works by exerting a physiological effect on the body’s pain gate mechanism. This temporarily alters the pain signals traveling to and from your brain, which can bring relief to people who are dealing with chronic pain. Because heat expands and cold contracts, contrast therapy is also great for flushing out unwanted fluids and toxins in the body by creating a “pumping” mechanism. Contrast therapy can help flush lymph fluid efficiently throughout the body.

Cupping

Cupping is a traditional (since 1500 B.C.) and safe treatment that helps work out persistent muscle tightness and discomfort faster than massage therapy alone.

  • Encourages cell repair through increased circulation.

  • Helps the body move toxins and waste out of the muscles and into the lymphatic system.

  • Improves varicose veins by moving blood through the veins that no longer work as well.

  • By increasing lymph and blood flow to the chest, it helps break down phlegm and draw out congestion.

Stretching & ROM

While a massage immediately breaks up muscle knots and adhesions, the results tend to be short-term. Stretching, on the other hand, can help maintain the effects of the massage. Each session of stretching and ROM works towards fixing issues like body imbalances and tension.

Range of motion is crucial for proper mobility of the entire body. If your range of motion is inhibited, you may experience pain or discomfort. It may cause compensation patterns that can lead to dysfunction, poor posture and pain.
